School Comprehensive Improvement Plan (SCIP)

Title 1 is a program from the U.S. Department of Education that provides extra help for students to learn at their grade level.

The school reviews student data to make a plan for the extra help needed each year. In Saint Paul Public Schools, this plan is called the School Comprehensive Improvement Plan, or SCIP.

Family Friendly SCIP 2025-2026

Reading Goals: 

The percentage of all students who are on track or at benchmark will increase by 5% as measured by the aFast Reading Assessment in the Fall and Spring. This improvement will be compared to the previous years's results.

Grade 6: 34% (+6.9%) Grade 6: 44%

Grade 8: 39% (+5.9%) Grade 8: 40%

Math Goals:

By June 2026, all students will show a 5% increase in meeting or exceeding math standards, as measured by SAvAAS Momentum Math Diagnostics assessment administered in the Fall and Spring. This improvement will be compared to the previous years's results.

School Climate & Culture

  1. All Student groups will score at least “3” on question 7 “Students are frequently recognized for good behavior” by Spring of 2026.
  2. The number of suspensions for disruptive behavior will decrease from 377 or 10% by May of 2026.
