School Comprehensive Improvement Plan (SCIP)

Title 1 is a program from the U.S. Department of Education that provides extra help for students to learn at their grade level.

The school reviews student data to make a plan for the extra help needed each year. In Saint Paul Public Schools, this plan is called the School Comprehensive Improvement Plan, or SCIP.

Family Friendly SCIP 2024-2025

School Climate Survey: 

  • At least 85% of all students will participate in the Student Climate Survey in the Fall 2024 and in Spring 2025.
  • All student groups will score an overall average score of ‘3’ or above on questions 4, 6, 7 by Spring 2025. 

Attendance Goals:

  1. At least 85% of all students will consistently attend school and 
  2. 2) All students will reach at least 80% consistent attendance as measured by the Consistent Attendance Report in BOLT by June 2025.

Literacy Goals:

The percentage of all students scoring proficient or higher in reading will increase by at least 5 percentage points as measured by the MCA III Reading Assessment administered in April 2025.

Grade 8:  14.2%

Math Goal:

The percentage of all students scoring proficient or higher in mathematics will increase by at least 5 percentage points as measured by the MCA III Mathematics Assessment administered in April 2025.

Grade 6:  5.2%
Grade 7: 6.1%
Grade 8:  15.0%

The percentage of all grades 6-8 grades at ‘Meets’ or ‘Exceeds’ will increase by at least 5 percentage points as measured by Fall, Winter and Spring Momentum Math Diagnostic Assessment in SY24-25.

Life, Career, and College Readiness:

  1. At least 90% passing rate will be attained in core courses (Social Studies, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science).
  2. At least 85% passing rate will be attained by all student groups as measured quarterly by Final Marks report in BOLT by June 2025.
  3. 100% of 8th grade students will complete all required Personal Learning Plan (PLP) tasks as monitored quarterly and measured by student PLP log in Xello by Spring 2025.
